Pain reprocessing therapy

what is pain reprocessing therapy?

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is a critical intervention for those who experience chronic pain. This modality is the first evidence-based treatment for chronic pain, recently validated in JAMA Psychiatry study which showed remarkable results 66% of chronic pain patients becoming pain-free or nearly pain-free following just four weeks of PRT.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy utilizes a mind body approach targeted at creating safety and stability on the inside. With its roots in neuroscience, PRT will dismantle the physiological undercurrents that produce pain, subsequently breaking the cycle of chronic pain. You will learn how to regulate your nervous system and align brain waves; sessions are more focused on your experience and less on talking and explaining. Chronic pain often comes with emotional distress, conflict, relational concerns, and overall life stress. This holistic approach targets all facets of chronic pain to create lasting, holistic change.

Clients who may especially benefit from PRT are those who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, and chronic illness. Those who benefit from PRT may often feel highly sensitive, perfectionistic, blame themselves, difficulties in relationships, and difficulty expressing emotions. Through PRT we will work together to move you beyond your pain and see a more fulfilling life physically and emotionally.
